Nominations open for Greater Hammond Chamber 2020 Board

With over 640 members, the Greater Hammond Chamber represents more than 20,000 employees in the greater Hammond area and throughout Tangipahoa Parish. Working to represent these members’ interests is a highly engaged board of directors, now seeking additional recruits for 2020. 

“The Greater Hammond Chamber has an impressive history of quality board leaders who have built the strong foundation from which we serve our business community,” said President and CEO Melissa Bordelon. “It is that time of year when we reach out to our members, seeking active business leaders who are serious about growing business and who have an interest in joining our leadership team.” 

Per Chamber bylaws, the nomination committee, led by Incoming Chairman Rick Sedberry with Movement Mortgage, will review all nominations and be prepared to present a slate of nominees at the September 11, board meeting. Nominees must be an active member in good standing and must agree to accept the responsibilities of a directorship. An incoming chairman, treasurer and five three-year board seats are up for consideration. 

The 2019 Greater Hammond Chamber board is comprised of 23 area business leaders – 18 full board members and five advisory members selected by the chairman who serve a one year term.
