Nominations are now open for the Greater Hammond Chamber of Commerce’s 2019 Annie Awards, which recognizes Tangipahoa women who work in excellence and have a true servant’s heart for the community.

Sponsored by Northshore Broadcasting and North Oaks Health System, winners will be celebrated at the Friday, June 14, Chamber luncheon at Southeastern Louisiana University Student Union Grand Ballroom.

Originally founded in 1998 to honor the late Southeastern Louisiana University Administrator Anne Ferguson, the Annie Awards have recognized over 55 of our community’s leading ladies through the years.

“Northshore Broadcasting is proud to, once again, partner with the Greater Hammond Chamber, in recognizing Tangipahoa parish’s outstanding Annie Award winners,” Northshore Broadcasting’s Market Manager Brian Shirey said. “The June Tangi Lifestyles edition, distributed to over 28,000 homes and businesses across Tangipahoa parish, is the perfect platform to feature the 2019 winners and to celebrate their impact on our community.”

Louisiana Department of Health Secretary Dr. Rebekah Gee, an obstetrician/gynecologist and trained policy expert, will be the guest speaker at the popular luncheon which attracts 175+ local business leaders to celebrate with the Annie honorees.

“North Oaks is not only proud to be a sponsor of these special awards that celebrate the tremendous, vibrant and talented women of our community, but also to highlight and recognize the contributions that Dr. Gee has made to improving lives and communities in her work as a physician and as secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health,” said Michele Kidd Sutton, North Oaks Health System President/Chief Executive Officer and past Annie Award Winner.

A list of past winners can be viewed online at www.hammondchamber.org/annie-awards. Deadline to submit online nominations is Friday, April 5, at noon. Click here to submit your nomination.

“Our past Annie recipients represent an amazing group of women who have made significant contributions to our community,” said Dr. Kay Maurin, Greater Hammond Chamber Board Member and Annie Awards Committee Chair. “We are looking forward to reviewing the applications for this year’s Annie nominees. I know they will all be inspiring.”
