Be in the know! The Greater Hammond Chamber Just the Facts on Friday, July 19, will feature information on the 2020 Census, the importance of an accurate count and how the community can partner with the U.S. Census Bureau to ensure a successful census.
Typically a members-only benefit, this event is open to all area business leaders. Consider registering at least one member of your team so your business will be ready.
Featuring Partnership Specialist Qiana Wiggins, the breakfast event will be held from 7:30-8:45 a.m at the Southeastern Louisiana University Alumni Center.
"There has been a lot of media attention about the upcoming census. Join us to get your questions answered, learn how the census will be conducted and why it's important that everyone be counted," Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Tracy Randazzo said.
Qiana "Qi" (pronounced Key) Wiggins has over 15 years of Fortune 500 company business experience with nine years in the oil & gas industry, to include specific experience in media relations and advertising content; crises management; internal and external stakeholder engagement; social investing; volunteerism; strategic business planning; program development; and process improvement using Six Sigma tools/certification. Currently she is serving the United States Department of Commerce with the US Census Bureau as a Partnership Specialist. United State Census Bureau Partnership Specialists develop partnerships within their assigned geographic area with state and local government leaders, community-based organizations, faith-based groups, schools, media outlets, businesses and other grassroots entities in communities. These relationships will be critical efforts to break down enumeration barriers in support of the 2020 Decennial Census. Wiggins, a Louisiana native and graduate of Dillard and Tulane Universities, assigned geographic areas include Tangipahoa, St. Tammany, Washington, and St. Helena Parishes.
